Abstract£ºEffect of insect-resistant gene on cotton economic characters and physiological characteristics was studied. The results showed that transgenic insect-resistant cotton had higher fruit retention, lower boll weight and lower lint percent. Fruit branches and fruit nodes of transgenic insect-resistant cotton were less than that of its acceptor varieties. The results also showed that before pre-flowering, content of chlorophyll and photosynthetic rate of transgenic insect-resistant cotton were lower than its acceptor, which made growing of transgenic insect-resistant cotton weaker. After peak flowering, content of total nitrogen and chlorophyll and photosynthetic rate of transgenic insect ª² resistant cotton were higher than its acceptor, which were the basis for high yield and good quality. In total growing period, transgenic insect-resistant cotton had higher contents of MDA, lower activity of SOD and CAT and POD, which made the varieties weaker resistant to light, temperature and water stresses.
