Abstract£º Optimizing extraction technology of gossypol from cottonseed meals with the hydrochloric acid and 80% ethanol mixed solution by Response Surface Methodology's Box-Behnken mode was studied. A quadratic equations model for gossypol extraction was built and effect of main factors and their corresponding relationships were obtained. The optimal extraction conditions of gossypol from cottonseed meals as follows: extraction temperature 60 ¡æ , volume of extractant 26 mL¡¤g-1, hydrochloric acid's concentration 1 mol¡¤L-1, extraction time 3.6 h,extracting times was 1, the yield of gossypol from cottonseed meals by hydrochloric acid and 80% ethanol mixed solution was 8.80 mg¡¤g-1.
