Research Progress on Cotton Verticillium Wilt and Resistance Breeding

Abstract：In this review，we mainly summarized the recent research advances on cotton Verticillium wilt in the following aspects：mechanism of Verticillium pathogenicity，mechanism of host resistance，cotton resistance breeding against Verticillium wilt．We analyzed the different factors lagging the resistance breeding，such as limited resistant resources and lack of efficient breeding methods，and proposed measures for accelerating the Verticillium wilt resistance breeding progress．
