Abstract:Variations of main agronomic traits in selected lines from transgenic cotton obtained by transformed insect resistant genes into cotton line Zhong 99668 through pollen tube pathway method were investigated. Introducing of foreign genes resulted in stable hereditable non-target-gene variation of agronomic characteristics in the descents. The analysis of T5 generation of transgenic lines revealed that variations occurred in many agronomic traits. Most of the transgenic lines showed an increasing trend for the yield, the number of plant branches and rolls. However, the reverse trend was also observed. The leaves became smaller and the generational period became shorter. A lot of variations in fiber qualities were also found such as fiber strength, micronaire value fiber length, fiber index, degree of uniformity etc.
