Abstract:Nine upland cotton hybrids (F1) were made up by three different high quality lines as female parents crosssd with high bollweight line, high quality line, high lint percentage line as male parents respectively. The relationships of heterosis of hybrids (F1) with their parent behaviours were studied. The results showed that F1hybrid heterosis in yield was depended on jointly actions of their parents. Besides, the results indicated that the average heterosis in yield of F1 hybrids made up with the same female parent depended on their male parents and that of F1 hybrids with the same male parents depended on their female parents. F1 average heterosis of the check in boll number, bollweight, lint percentage and plant height depended on male parent.
